WHO?
It is the goal of the church leadership to have each person who calls Griswold Street Baptist Church their home to belong to a small group. Our desire is for people to experience the richness and joy of being connected to others in their pursuit of growth in Christ.
WHY?
The purpose of Griswold Street Baptist Church small group ministry is to promote intimacy with God and one another by providing a loving, accountable and growing community. In such an environment, people can be nurtured and cared for spiritually, physically and emotionally. This ministry is foundational to Griswold Street Baptist Church. You are encouraged to seriously consider becoming involved in the small group program as we strive to connect people to meaningful relationships.
WHAT?
Most groups consist of 8-12 people who meet for about 1 1/2 hours. The groups normally meet Sunday evenings, 3 times a month. A commitment is made to make attendance a priority with each member participating throughout the meeting.
There are four essentials to a well-balanced small group. The first is relationship building in which the members progressively grow closer together and genuinely care for one another’s needs. Bible study is the second main essential, studying God’s Word and allowing it to practically impact their lives. Third, practical ministry is emphasized, reaching out to people both within and without the small group. Also, evangelistic growth is a constant goal, seeking to invite others to the group. What a thrill to see a group grow to the point of multiplying.
